Despite an increase in the use of technology in education, handwriting remains an important skill for progress through school and beyond.
The use of robust, psychometrically sound assessment tools is therefore critical for identifying those with difficulties and planning appropriate support.
The Detailed Assessment of Speed of Handwriting (DASH, for 9-16 year olds) and DASH17+ (for 17-25 year olds) have been extensively used to identify those with handwriting difficulties and provide objective evidence to apply for accommodations and other support for students.
The recently published new edition, DASH-2 provides a revised version based on a representative normative sample comprised of 754 examinees from the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

HOST: MELISSA SAVONOFF:
Melissa's interest in offering handwriting trainings stems from working with children, as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist for the past 20 years, who are struggling in this area and she has had the joy of applying research to her clinical practice with these children and evidencing improved outcomes.
She is passionate to share of this evidence-based practice with you, so you can see, how simply developing automated handwriting, can truly help improve your students' literacy abilities and overall capacity for learning.
It sounds cliche, but in all sincerity it is our passion to see children blossom and families, educators/teachers and therapists empowered and equipped!
